When I was in Vietnam and visited Ngũ Hành Sơn. I saw everywhere those (south)korean tourist couples holding selfie-sticks. Selfie in korean isn’t selfie its selka, derived from the words self and camera.
A selfie-stick is a monopod camera mount. Koreans mostly had a shutter button at the grip to trigger the Android-camera via Bluetooth. So you don’t need a timer. Be careful there are cheap chinese selfie-sticks that broadcast on illegal frequencies.
Selfie-sticks are great if you have short arms or you want to take wider pictures.
I embedded this selfie-stick review from Jamie Hoang.
Of course you should take care to keep the stick out of your picture.
